Dr. S.S. Vasan is a Visiting Research Fellow at Oxford University, and Head of Public Health Department at Oxitec Limited – an insect biotech company that is part-owned by the University. He is also Visiting Senior Scientist at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Vectors in Kuala Lumpur. A chartered bio-engineer, Vasan has masters degrees from BITS Pilani and IISc Bangalore, and a doctorate from Trinity College, Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. Prior to joining Oxitec, Vasan worked in the USA as a consultant in the pharmaceutical and medical products practice of McKinsey & Company.
